"As soon as I stepped through the front door, I felt very calm. The home just had an aura, a feeling of positive energy. Right then, I knew Charles was the perfect person to design our lake home." -Homeowner
This modern but warm year round lake home has many unique aesthetic, yet functional features that take advantage of the beautiful “up-north” site. The homeowners purchased a cabin on the site 40 years ago, where they would retreat every weekend until they decided to make it their primary residence. The scale, siting and architectural language are respectful to the homes very visible location on the lake lot, and work together to create an understated appearance from the water. An open floor plan with seamless flow from indoor to outdoor living areas connect the home to its natural environment. The large triple pane window expanses combine with the reaching horizontal forms to create a flow of interior to exterior spaces and create harmony with the natural surroundings. Geothermal wells provide additional energy efficiencies for this home.
