RAPSON REVIVAL

MINNETONKA, MINNESOTA

This home, originally designed by legendary Minnesota architect, Ralph Rapson, was updated for a modern lifestyle while maintaining most of the original footprint of the living spaces and spirit of the interior. The original central glass atrium was preserved, but kitchen island upgrades and the addition of a metal tambour door to conceal an in-kitchen bar made the space more efficient for its new owners.
Additional windows were also incorporated to bring in light from multiple directions, enhancing the original round skylights seen throughout the home. Flow was increased both inside and out, with the house now opening to a generous outdoor living area overlooking the wooded area beyond.
